Partnerships That Belong Beside the Story
The Decision Room creates documentary media partnerships with brands, foundations, universities, nonprofit organizations, and community institutions that believe authentic human stories can build trust, connection, and deeper understanding.
For us, partnership is not simply about visibility or logo placement.
The strongest collaborations happen when an organization’s values naturally align with a story the audience is already willing to listen to closely.
That may include organizations working in education, social change, recovery, reintegration, caregiving, disability, mental health, culture, human development, or any other field where trust and lived human experience genuinely matter.
But alignment in subject matter alone is not enough.
The right partnership begins when the connection does not need to be explained to the audience.
What Collaboration Can Look Like
No two partnerships need to look the same. Some may be built around a single story. Others may grow around a thematic series, a social issue, or a broader editorial initiative.
COLLABORATION MAY INCLUDE:
01
support for an individual episode
02
series partnerships
03
thematic editorial initiatives
04
community or educational collaborations
05
special events and live conversations
06
joint projects with universities and nonprofit organizations
07
documentary storytelling projects created specifically for an organization
08
branded documentary stories, when the format naturally aligns with The Decision Room’s standards
We do not begin with a prepackaged offering. We begin by finding the right idea. Then we build the partnership around it.

Additional Context
The Decision Room’s stories do not end on a single platform. This allows one powerful story to reach audiences in different formats and at different moments.
The goal of a partnership is not simply to appear in more places. The goal is to bring the right story to the right person in the form in which it can have the greatest impact.
EDITORIAL INDEPENDENCE
A partnership cannot buy a story.
This principle is simple and non-negotiable. A partner may help a story exist, travel further, and reach a broader audience. But they cannot determine what a respondent says or what the audience should think.
Trust is our most valuable editorial capital.
Who We Want to Work With
We are most interested in partners who understand the difference between appearing inside a story and standing beside it with integrity. Because not every collaboration will be right, we consider each opportunity individually based on its fit with our principles.
