Who were we?
What changed us?
What did we choose?
And who did we become afterward?

Stories may reach people who are now walking paths others have already walked. They may not have the answers yet, may not know what comes next, or may simply need to see that they are not alone in what they are experiencing. Stories cannot tell someone how to live — but they can offer something deeply important: the feeling of being understood, a new perspective, and the possibility of seeing that one difficult moment does not define the rest of a life. Sometimes, hearing other people’s stories helps us see our own differently.

„Every choice changes the story“

ABOUT THE DECISION ROOM

The Decision Room is an independent media project about the moments that change the direction or the meaning of a person’s life.

Some turning points begin with a choice we make. Others begin with something we never chose: loss, change, failure, discovery, survival or an unexpected realization.

What interests us is what happens next.

Through honest, journalistic conversations, The Decision Room goes beyond the question “What happened?” to explore the deeper human story behind it: who someone was before, what became the turning point, what choices they faced, and who they became afterward.

At the heart of the project is one simple idea:

“A life can change twice — first when something happens, and again when we understand what it meant.”

We approach every story with curiosity, respect for human dignity, and the understanding that a person is always more than a single chapter of their life.

We do not define people by their most difficult period, a diagnosis, a mistake, or a single headline.

We are interested in the whole person — and in how their life changed, as seen through their own eyes.

The stories are different, but the questions within them are often universal:

Everyone has a story worth hearing.

You do not have to be famous for your story to matter.

The Decision Room is about people, not status.

Every story in The Decision Room is different, but many share one thing - a moment, an experience, or a choice after which a person came to see themselves or their life differently.

You do not need a “perfect” story.
You do not need to have all the answers.
And you do not need to know how to tell your story perfectly.

If you would like to share your own story, you can complete a short form and tell us a little about your experience. Because The Decision Room interviews are currently filmed in person in Los Angeles, participants need to be based in or able to come to the Los Angeles area for the interview. If your story feels like a good fit for The Decision Room, we’ll be in touch to continue the conversation.

A short summary is enough — what happened, what became the turning point, and how your life is different today.
